Honey has for long been known as beneficial for asthma. When honey vapors are inhaled by asthmatic patients they get relief from symptoms. During an asthma attack, heating three spoons of honey in a plastic bowl, and letting the person inhale it will help the person inhale deeper and easier.

Figs are excellent for weeding out the phlegm that is associated with asthma. Phlegm causes a lot of discomfort in asthmatic people. Sometimes a lot of phlegm development prevents them from having food and water. It may also cause the body to develop a temperature and cause fever. So taking figs are good for preventing asthma or controlling it.

Lemon juice if consumed with food will make asthmatic people feel better. Although there is no substantial scientific explanation for it, lemon is said to make people feel much better when they inhale and exhale.

Everyone knows about the health risks that people who smoke faces. The media portrays all the lovely effects taking that one puff on a cigarette can do for you. They show the dried up lungs, the black sooty color of the lungs and the millions of poisons that are inside a cigarette that can cause problems.

One of the most common problems that are associated with smoking is that of lung problems. When a person inhales on a cigarette the first thing that happens is that all of those poisons that are in that cigarette go directly into their lungs. The direct impact of having those chemicals in the lungs causes many things to happen such as lung cancer, emphysema and asthma.

These conditions are extremely tough on ones heath. Asthma causes a lot of problems not just inside the lungs. Many people who suffer from asthma have problems working out and keeping in shape. With that they can become overweight and obese which can put a strain on the heart.

Asthma in smokers can be extremely tough to cure because if a smoker does not stop smoking the condition of their lungs are just as irritated as before they sought treatment. However, studies show that if a person were to stop smoking completely the body starts to heal itself and the lungs will become better then they were before.

However, if asthma is not cured in a smoker it can lead to over more grave and serious conditions. COPD and emphysema all started out with asthma like symptoms in smokers. The smokers did not stop smoking and therefore the condition got worse then before.

With all the health effects that smoking can have especially on the lungs and with asthma it is amazing that smokers don’t seek treatment for their addiction when they should.
